FAQ
Short answers to the questions salons ask most: fees, WooCommerce, guests, SMS, hardware, themes and what happens to your data.
Do you take a fee per booking?
No. LogicWeft Salon runs on your own WooCommerce site. Payments go through your own gateway, straight to you. There are no per-booking or monthly fees.
Do I need WooCommerce?
Yes, version 9.5 or later. Services are WooCommerce products and appointments are WooCommerce orders, so checkout, payments, taxes, coupons, emails and reports stay WooCommerce's. You also need WordPress 6.6 or later and PHP 8.1 or later.
Can I sell retail products too?
Yes. Retail products are ordinary WooCommerce products. A stylist can add one to a client's ticket from My day, so the service and the shampoo are paid in one go, on one order.
Can clients book without an account?
Yes. A name and phone number are enough; email is optional. Clients without an email address don't get confirmation or reminder emails. Clients with an account also see their appointments under My Account.
Can clients choose their stylist?
Yes, or pick "Anyone" and take the first free stylist by your chosen rule. See Booking rules.
Can a client book several services at once?
Yes. They add services to a basket and get times where they run back to back.
Does it send SMS or WhatsApp messages?
Not in the free plugin. It sends WooCommerce emails: confirmation, two reminders, reschedule, cancellation, chair ready and running late. See Emails.
Can I take deposits or charge no-show fees?
Not in the free plugin. Clients either pay in full online or pay at the salon, and your cancellation policy is shown before they book. See Payments and cancellations.
Does it have a waitlist or group bookings?
Not in the free plugin. When a day is full, clients choose another day; walk-ins can join the walk-in queue.
Do new bookings need my approval?
No. Online bookings are confirmed as soon as the client books, with times that are really free. To stop new bookings for a while, pause online booking from the Operator App.
What hardware do I need?
Any recent tablet, phone or computer with a browser. A tablet at the front desk for the Today board, and each stylist's own phone for My day, is the usual set-up. There's nothing to install from an app store.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. The booking widget takes on your theme's fonts and fits the space it's given. The Operator App has its own full-screen page, so your theme never gets in its way. If your site uses Elementor, there are three widgets.
Does it work in my language?
LogicWeft Salon is translation-ready and works in right-to-left languages. Booking emails go out in the language the client booked in.
Where is my data?
On your own site, in your own database. The free plugin sends nothing to Logicweft or any other service. The only outside link it shows is "Add to Google Calendar" on the confirmation, which sends nothing until the client clicks it.
Is there a demo?
Yes, inside the plugin: the setup wizard can load a demo salon with stylists, services, clients and two weeks of appointments, and remove it again in one step. See Getting started.
