Docs Set up

Services and stylists

Add the services clients book, the add-ons that go with them, and the stylists who do them, with their hours, breaks and leave.

Clients can only book a time when three things line up: a service that is bookable online, a stylist who does that service, and a free slot in that stylist's working hours. This guide sets up the first two. The slots follow from your booking rules.

Services

Every service is a WooCommerce product of the type Salon service, so it has a price, a category, a description and a photo like any product, and works with your taxes and coupons. Open LogicWeft Salon → Services to see them all, or add one with Add service (it opens the WooCommerce product editor; choose Salon service as the product type).

The product editor has a salon panel with these fields:

FieldWhat it does
Duration (minutes)Time the client is in the chair.
Buffer before (minutes)Set-up time before the service. The stylist is busy, but the client's time doesn't include it.
Buffer after (minutes)Clean-up time after the service, also outside the client's time.
Lead time (minutes)How soon from now this service may be booked online. Leave it empty to use the salon's lead time.
Bookable onlineClients can book this service on the booking page. Untick it for services you only book at the desk.

The product's category groups services on the booking page (Hair, Colour, Skin and so on), and its price is what the client pays, unless a stylist has their own price (see Skills below).

New services start with the default duration and buffers from LogicWeft Salon → Settings → Booking.

Variations

A service with options, such as short or long hair, can be a variable product. Each variation can have its own duration and price.

Add-ons

An add-on, like a head massage with a haircut, is a WooCommerce product of the type Salon add-on. It has Extra minutes (the time it adds to the service) and Allowed on services (which services it can be added to). Clients see the allowed add-ons when they pick the service.

Turning online booking on and off

On LogicWeft Salon → Services you can switch several services at once with the bulk actions Allow online booking and Stop online booking. To take a service off the booking page for a few days instead, pause it from the Operator App: see Run late and pause.

Import from CSV

LogicWeft Salon → Services → Import from CSV creates services from a spreadsheet. The file is UTF-8, comma separated, with a header row, up to 1 MB. You see a preview before anything is saved.

ColumnWhat to put in it
nameRequired. Rows with a name that already exists are skipped.
durationMinutes. Empty uses the default from Booking settings.
priceA decimal, for example 45.00.
categoryProduct category name, created when missing.
buffer_beforeMinutes before the service.
buffer_afterMinutes after the service.
online_bookableyes or no.
descriptionShown on the booking page.

Stylists

LogicWeft Salon → Staff lists everyone who can be booked. Under Add staff, either pick an existing WordPress user or type just a name. Everyone starts with the default working hours from LogicWeft Salon → Settings → Staff.

Someone added by name is booked, shown on the booking page and given hours like anyone else, but has no login, so they can't open the Operator App or see My day. To give them one later, create their WordPress user (Users → Add New User), then open their profile and choose that user under Operator App login. Linking a user gives them the Salon staff role. LogicWeft Salon never creates WordPress users itself.

Note: The setup wizard works the same way: a stylist with a WordPress user's email is linked to that user; one without is added without a login.

Profile

FieldWhat it does
Name shown to clientsThe name on the booking page and the Operator App.
Photo and bioShown on the booking page and in the Elementor staff grid.
LevelJunior, Senior or Director. Used by the "Most senior first" rule for "Anyone" bookings.
LanguagesSeparate languages with commas.
Bookable onlineClients can pick this person on the booking page.
Show on websiteShow this person in staff grids.
Lead time (minutes)How much notice this person needs for an online booking. Leave it empty to use the salon's.
Sort orderThe order stylists appear in.
StatusInactive staff keep their history but can't be booked.

Skills

Tick the services this person does. A stylist only appears for the services they're ticked for. For each service you can set a Duration override and a Price override, for example when a senior stylist takes longer or charges more; leave them empty to use the service's own.

Weekly hours

Set each day's start and end and a break. A day that isn't worked stays off.

Leave and blocked time

Add leave (a holiday, a sick day) or blocked time (training, a personal appointment) with a start, an end and a reason. Leave you add here counts straight away: the stylist has no slots during it.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] and a real person will reply, usually within two working days.
