Docs Operator App
The Operator App
Open the salon app on a tablet or phone, install it to the home screen, and how it stays up to date.
The Operator App is where the salon day is run: the front desk on a tablet, each stylist on their phone, the owner on either. It runs in the browser on any recent tablet, phone or computer; there's nothing to download from an app store.
Opening the app
Go to your site's address followed by /salon-app/, for example https://your-salon.com/salon-app/, and sign in with your WordPress login. The address can be changed under LogicWeft Salon → Settings → Operator App → App address.
The screens you see depend on your role:
| Screen | Owner | Receptionist | Stylist |
|---|---|---|---|
| Today | Yes | Yes | No |
| My day | Yes | No | Yes |
| Calendar | Yes | Yes | No |
| Walk-ins | Yes | Yes | No |
| Clients | Yes | Yes | No |
| Checkout | Yes | Yes | No |
| Run late & pause | Yes | Yes | No |
| Day close | Yes | No | No |
| Account | Yes | Yes | Yes |
How to give each person the right role is in Staff and roles. Someone without a salon role who opens the app sees "No access to the salon app" and can sign in as someone else.
The guides for each role:
- Front desk: Today, Calendar, Walk-ins, Clients, Checkout, Run late and pause.
- Stylists: My day.
- Owners: everything above, plus Day close.
Install it to the home screen
The app can be installed like a native app, with its own icon and no browser bar:
- iPad and iPhone (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): tap the menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Computer (Chrome or Edge): click the install icon in the address bar.
It's called "LogicWeft Salon front desk". You can set its icon under LogicWeft Salon → Appearance → Operator App icon (512 pixels or larger).
Live updates
Changes made on one device reach the others within seconds: a new online booking appears on the Today board (with a chime, if New booking sound is on), a stylist pressing Start moves the card to In chair at the front desk, and so on. Keep the app open; you don't need to reload it.
When the connection drops
If the Wi-Fi drops for a moment, the app shows a notice and keeps the last data on screen. Status taps on the Today board are held and sent when the connection returns. The calendar is read-only while offline: moving and adding bookings needs the server to check the stylist is free, so those wait until you're back online.
Look and feel
The app follows the device's light or dark mode by default. Change it, and choose comfortable or compact spacing for the staff screens, under LogicWeft Salon → Appearance.
